Ten years ago, on October 13, 1993, at about 12 noon, a very special private meeting took place. Well established in my printing and direct mailing business, I decided to expand my musical aspirations to produce and promote a new and different kind of music ... (Please click read more...!)
... that would eventually become known as Mello-D’s “Youth Under Construction” (MDYUC). Having met Lisa, my wife and partner, about a year earlier, I was in the process of producing a four song cassette and arranged to meet with her to discuss publicity for that release. It was during that meeting that we realized that we both had something quite unique in common: a desire to create music with positive messages for young people. Many demos and performances later, MDYUC was born and we are steadily working to bring this product to the masses.
Shortly after our meeting, I wrote a love song for Lisa, titled, "Two Hearts". I did not realize at that time what significance the "construction" metaphors in the song would have.

In my search for love the signs were so unsure

My heart was "Under Construction" with "No Detour", it was

Two Hearts, two birds of a feather
Two Hearts, just like a living love letter

Just when I gave up my search, I heard this sound, like drums beating, then I ran up the path lit by the moon high above
To my surprise and delight, to you it was leading
Lovely Child of Wonder, Sweet Angel of Love, it was
Two Hearts, in search of each other
Two Hearts, in search of one special lover
Two Hearts, two birds of a feather
Two Hearts, so happy together
