MDYUC Honored by Skillman Foundation in Detroit Free Press YAK Article
Posted by on: The "YAK" is a special section of the the Free Press that caters to youth. With a readership of over 300,000, this is also delivered to many Detroit Public Schools. Once per week, the Skillman Foundation puts a spotlight on organizations or programs they have supported and the Sept. 18, 2007 edition featured "Youth Under Construction: Sing, Dance and Rap to Different Beat." This full-page article displayed 3 photos of the group. From a November, 2004 picture taken at a parade in Royal Oak, with "YAK," the furry mascot of the newspaper section, to a shot of the group that performed at the Mich. State Fair on Labor Day weekend 2007.
